Avocado Seed Tea
Print RecipeDid you know that you can make tea with avocado seeds? It is a healthy drink made by boiling avocado seeds in water and then straining the mixture. The seed contains antioxidants & vitamin C. Research has found that avocado seeds contain antioxidants which can help protect against cell damage and potentially reduce disease risk. They have several other benefits, including reducing inflammation and lowering cholesterol. Next time don't throw the seeds out, use them for tea!

Rinse and cut avocado seeds in quarters with a sharp knife. Be careful not to cut yourself as the seed can be a bit slippery

Place the avocado seed quarters in a pot of boiling water. We recommend about a cup of water per seed. Let the seeds boil for 10 min. The liquid will turn brownish red. Strain the liquid through a sieve to remove the seeds from the infused water.

Pour the tea into cups and add your favorite sweetener. Honey and a dash a lime is a perfect add-on to this somewhat bitter drink. Drink hot or cold!
