Smoky Guacamole
Print RecipeThis smoky guacamole is built around perfectly ripe, naturally ripened avocados, chosen for their creamy texture and full, buttery flavor. Fire-charred tomato and red onion add depth and a subtle smokiness, while fresh cilantro and chipotle bring balance and gentle heat. Every ingredient is intentional, creating a guacamole that’s bold, smooth, and unmistakably fresh.
This recipe delivers the kind of rich flavor and consistency you expect from restaurant-quality guacamole.
For an optional finishing touch, sprinkle with crispy bacon bits for an added layer of smoky crunch. It’s not required — but once you try it, you’ll understand why it’s a favorite for game day, gatherings, and anyone who likes their guacamole with a little extra edge.
Serve immediately with tortilla chips or fresh-cut veggies and enjoy guacamole the way it’s meant to be: creamy, smoky, and full of flavor.

Ingredients
- 2 Ripe Avocados
- 1/4 cup packed cilantro
- 1/4 of a medium Red Onion
- 1 medium size Tomato
- 1/2 Lime
- 1 tbsp chipotle (in adobo or paste)
- 3 cooked bacon strips - cut into crunchy bits (optional)
Instructions
-
Char for flavor: Heat a pan over high heat. Char the tomato and red onion until blistered and lightly blackened — this is where the smoky flavor starts.
-
Build the salsa: In a traditional molcajete, grind the charred tomato, onion, and cilantro until you get a rustic salsa. Remove remaining tomato skin for smoother texture.
-
Add the ripe avocados, chipotle, salt, and lime juice. Gently mash and mix until you reach your preferred texture — chunky or smooth.
-
Drizzle with bacon bits for an extra hit of smoke and crunch.
